Quick Guide To Hire Me
Dear business owner,
Are you looking for a passionate guy who can provide really valuable work for your business? Currently, I work as a software developer, but I am looking to aggressively enhance my experience. I’m not the usual "slinging code for a living" guy as I’d rather take an engineering approach to the code I write. And most importantly, I am a firm believer in God and am always striving to do my job as if God Himself were my employer - and indeed He is.
I’m 34 and currently live in Bucharest, but I am not bound to one place. Some time ago, I asked God for a change in my life. So here I am, now, waiting and praying to God to fulfill his work with my life.
Meanwhile, as I receive tons of unwanted job offers - nothing unusual for a software developer these days - I have decided to put together a list of some things that recruiters or business persons should know about myself before sending me an offer.
Experience
After seven years working as an automation engineer, I still had the nerve to change my career towards web development. So, during the last two and a half years I have worked as a backend PHP developer on the LAMP stack using frameworks like Laravel, Yii, and Symfony. I have also worked with legacy code quite a bit.
Throughout this period, I came to the firm conclusion that a solid and thoughtful application architecture is of the uttermost importance for ensuring the stability and the maintainability of the system and for reducing the business cost of development in the long run.
Unfortunately, contrary to the popular belief amongst developers and even software architects and CTOs, an MVC or any other kind of framework cannot be a "good enough" architectural solution for an enterprise level application. I enjoy working with frameworks as well, but a framework is just a useful tool, that's all it can be.
Software Architecture
Right now, I'm intensively studying software architecture concepts and patterns and I am trying to embrace them into practice, of course.
During the year spent working at eJobs Group (the biggest recruiting and job searching platform in Romania) I have refactored a very important section of the business logic to Domain Driven Design (isolated it to a Bounded Context and all). Also, I have extracted some logic into a small microservice and integrated it with the old legacy application through some REST APIs and a RabbitMQ messaging system.
Do you really have a job offer for me?
Now, if you want to offer me a job as a Senior PHP Developer or even one as a (Junior) Software Architect (this means I'll get the chance to learn some more software architecture if you are ready to invest in me), please provide answers to the following questions along with your detailed offer (including pay range and benefits):
- Do you have an interesting/challenging project or a great team which I could join?
- Do you strive for implementing or rebuilding/refactoring your application towards a modern software architecture system like Domain Driven Design, Hexagonal Architecture, CQRS/ES and/or microservices?
- How do you score on the following tests?
Please do not contact me regarding the mentioned positions unless you've got answers for the above questions. Thank you very much!
Otherwise, if you want to discuss other business opportunities (I am not afraid to switch my career to a completely unrelated field if the opportunity arises - as I consider myself a true multipotentialite, by the grace of God) or if you like to know more about God, please do not hesitate to contact me!
May God bless you!
Corneliu Vesa
PS. Some of my weaknesses are:
- I cannot work effectively under stressful conditions (although I can handle enormous amounts of stress).
- I am more of an intuitive person/thinker, so my logic and problem-solving skills can and will be disappointing, at times. I'm an INFJ, you can see my MBTI test result at 16personalities
- Although I have seen and done my share of quick and dirty solutions, I always try to avoid them, so I'm the "slow kind of guy".
PPS. You can check my profile on Upwork.com if you like to give me an offer there.
PPPS. This is the most important thing I must say about myself: I couldn't be more convinced of the fact that all my strength and intellectual capacity comes from and is sustained by God! I try hard to always be a humble and friendly guy. Also, I'm willing to share with others - only if they are open to listening to me - the unthinkable grace our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, has shown for every man and woman living on this earth. If you want to find more about my life with God, please have a look at my public Facebook profile (in Romanian). I’m also on Linkedin.
